Why the Psoas Matters in Yoga, Breathwork and Daily Life

The psoas is more than a muscle. It is part of how we feel safe, breathe, create and connect. In Kundalini Yoga, many postures and kriyas work with energy rising through the spine ... but when the psoas is tight, that energy cannot move freely.
By relaxing and releasing the psoas muscle, your breath becomes deeper and your nervous system can calm down.

In rebirthing and breathwork, this muscle helps release old patterns of fear or control.
When the belly can move freely, emotions and memories stored in the body can surface and clear in a gentle way.

Even in marketing and daily life, the same principle applies:
when your body feels open and grounded, you can speak and act from truth, not tension.
You become more authentic, creative and connected ... in your work and in how you meet others.

“When the body feels safe, your message flows naturally and authentically”

A Daily Practice of Trust

My mind and body have a natural tendency to lean into fear, stress, and tension. That is why I practise this work every day.

Even after many years of yoga and Kundalini energy practice, I realised that I still needed to move deeper ... into the very core of my body.
Working with the psoas muscle helped me release layers that were hidden under all the breathing, the postures, and the effort to stay strong.

This practice has helped me stay calm, rest more deeply and feel safe inside my own body.
It reminds me to slow down, to listen, and to allow my natural rhythm to return.
My body now feels softer, juicier, and more alive .... as a living wholeness instead of a system of control.

Inspired by the work of Liz Koch and many others, I see the psoas not just as a muscle, but as the messenger of the soul ... guiding us toward safety, flow, and deep presence.

When Psoas Calls for Attention

Psoas speaks in sensations — not in words.
It communicates through feelings of tension, holding, or collapse.
You might notice:

--> a deep pull or tightness in the lower back, hips, or belly

--> shallow or limited breathing, as if the diaphragm cannot fully open

--> a sense of restlessness or alertness, even when you want to rest

--> a feeling of being “on guard”, waiting for something to happen

--> fatigue that lingers, even when you sleep enough

--> finding it hard to relax or stay grounded during yoga or meditation

These are not signs that something is wrong.
They are messages from the body, from your core, asking for safety, presence, and softness.

When we learn to listen ... instead of fix or force ... the psoas begins to unwind on its own.
This is where deep healing, creativity, and self-trust start to grow.
